August 30, 2008- Early in the morning hours at 02:12 Stations 2 & 4 were dispatched to the area of Berne Drive and Deiberts Valley Road for a tree down across the road. Duty Chief 722, Engine 732, and Engine 737 took care of the downed tree and were cleared in a half hour.
August 29, 2008- Rescue 727 goes to Wayne Township
August 29, 2008- At 10:24 Rainbow Hose, Station 1 was dispatched to assist District 34 (Summit Station and Friedensburg) to 1106 Moyer Station Road, Wayne Twp for a vehicle over an embankment with entrapment. Station 1 asked County Comm Center to also have Sch. Haven station 2 dispatched to provide the Rescue with manpower. However, before Rescue 727 was able to respond they were placed available by Wayne Twp command as there was no entrapment.
August 28, 2008- AFA at Haven Water Treatment Plant
August 28, 2008- Just after 10am all 3 stations were dispatched to 16 Tumbling Run Road, North Manheim Twp. for an Automatic Fire Alarm at the Schuylkill Haven Water Treatment Plant. However, do to crews working at the plant, they called and cancelled the fire department stating it was a false activation.
August26, 2008- AFA at”The Haven Tower”
August 26, 2008- At 17:00 the Schuylkill Haven Fire Department was dispatched to 255 Parkway (The Hi-Rise) for an activated fire alarm. As the Duty Chief 720 and all first due incoming units did an investigation it was found that the alarm was coming from the 8th floor. After crews got to the 8th floor and did an investigation it was found to be…..burnt food on the stove!! The person in the apartment did his own ventilation, and the fire department was not needed and cleared within 20 minutes.
August 25, 2008- Tanker Task Force to Washington Twp.
August 25, 2008- At 14:06 Liberty Fire, Station 4 was dispatched for Tanker 738 on a Tanker Task Force call to 181 Covered Bridge Road, Washington Township, for a barn fire. Tanker 738 was on the street within seconds of the dispatch and were cancelled per Chief 58-06 as they were rolling up to the scene. The tanker was out of the boro for about 25 minutes.
August 25, 2008- Move up assignment to Pine Grove Boro
August 25, 2008- At 14:00 Schuylkill Hose, Station 2 was dispatched to 1 Orchard Street, Pine Grove Boro, (HH&L Station) for a move-up assignment as Pine Grove Boro and Pine Grove Twp for on the scene of a Barn Fire. Engine 732 and Chief 722 responded and were released as Pine Grove units became available.
August 22, 2008- MVA near Renninger’s Market
August 22, 2008- Stations 1 & 2 were dispatched to 490 Route 61 South, North Manheim Twp. for a motor vehicle accident with injuries at around 17:50. Rescue 727 and Engine 732 went responding and were placed available while en route by Chief 723 (Donatti) as the crash actually happened outside of our coverage area. Orwigsburg Fire, District 56 took care of the crash. *Pics to follow*
August 19, 2008- Vehicle leaking fluids
August 19, 2008- At 12:04 Stations 1 & 2 (Station 2's second call to district) were dispatched to 356 Centre Ave (the old Texaco) for vehicle leaking fluids. Chief 723 (Donatti) and Rescue 727 handled the call and were out for only 10 minutes.
August 18, 2008- Move up assignment to Pine Grove Boro
August 18, 2008- Just before 10 pm Station 2 was dispatched for a move up assignment to Pine Grove Boro as they were out on a working structure fire in their coverage area. Only minutes after Station 2 was dispatched, Liberty Station 4 was also added to the assignment for Tanker 738 to stand by at Pine Grove HH&L. However, as Engine 732 and Tanker 738 were on the road, Engine 732 got diverted and went to a landing zone for incoming air medical, as there was a burn patient from the Pine Grove fire.
After Engine 732 cleared from the landing zone it staged with Tanker 738 at HH&L station until 2am when both units were released.
August 18, 2008- AFA at First U.C.C.
August 18, 2008- All three Haven stations were dispatched to 110 Route 61 South, North Manheim Twp. (The White Church) for an Automatic Fire Alarm. Units got on scene, performed a search, and found a faulty detector. All units were cleared in a half hour.
