January 23rd, 2010 – R.I.T. To East Brunswick For A WSF

January 23rd, 2010 – At 3:22 the Schuylkill Haven Fire Department Rapid Intervention Team (R.I.T.) along with Rescue 727 were dispatched to 24 W. Rauschs Road, East Brunswick Township for a working structure fire. Crews arrived on scene and staged for approximately 2.5 hours. Responding units were Squad 739, Engine 733, and Rescue 727.

Schuylkill Haven is located in the southern tier of Schuylkill County. As a department Schuylkill Haven Fire covers an area of roughly twenty-five square miles and a population of around 6,200 residents. The Schuylkill Haven Fire Department is composed of three companies; Rainbow Hose Station 1, Schuylkill Hose Station 2, Liberty Fire Station 4. SHFD currently has three borough chiefs, each representing their respective companies; Borough Chief-Glenn Sattizahn, First Assistant-Mike Donatti, Second Assistant-Andy Motko. At this time as a department we run 4 Engines, 1 Ladder, 1 Light Rescue, 1 Utility Squad, 1 Tanker, 2 Squads, and 3 Inflatable Water Rescue Boats and 1 Aluminum Flat-bottom boat with side scan sonar.
