April 28, 2011 – At 14:58 Stations 1 & 4 were dispatched to the area of 1880 Long Run Road for a vehicle accident with unknown injuries. First arriving E-737 was met with a two vehicle accident and no injuries. Crews assisted with traffic control, cleared debris from the roadway and waited until the tow company arrived. April 28, 2011 – Landing Zone (Church By PSU)
April 28, 2011 – At 11:39 Stations 1 & 2 were dispatched to 100A Route 61 (Church by PSU) for incoming Medevac 7. Crews arrived on scene and secured the area for the bird to land. Fire Personnel also assisted EMS with patient care and transport to the helicopter. All units were placed available by Chief 722 after approximately 20 minutes.
April 27, 2011 – Severe Storms Bring Strong Winds/Power Outages
April 27, 2011 – At line of severe storms brought strong winds that gusted in excess of 60 MPH causing multiple calls for the Schuylkill Haven Fire Department. Stations 1, 2, & 4 responded to multiple calls of trees down in the borough and North Manheim Township throughout night and early morning hours. Chief 722 (Sattizahn) was in command of the incidents.
April 26, 2011 – AFA E&T Pizza
April 26, 2011 – At 23:40 Stations 1, 2 & 4 were dispatched to 275 Route 61 south (E &T Pizza) for an automatic fire alarm. Just as units began to respond, SCCC advised of a false activation and all units were placed available by Chief 722.
April 24, 2011 – Fluids On The Roadway (Route 61 North Manheim)
April 24, 2011 – On Easter morning at 06:48 Stations 2 & 4 were dispatched to the area of 490 Route 61 for a fuel spill in the northbound lanes. Crews arrived on scene and used large amounts of floor dry to absorb the spill which covered more than a mile stretch of highway. Personnel from Station 2 discovered the leaking tractor trailer behind Redner’s Market and contained the fluids.
April 23, 2011 – Medical Assist (Avenue B)
April 23, 2011 – At 12:44Stations 1 & 2 were dispatched to 119 Ave B in the Borough for Medical Assist on a Cardiac Arrest. Personnel arrived on scene and were met with an unconscious male patient. Crews assisted EMS with patient removal from the residence. Station 1 & 2 also had apparatus staged at the SHHS for a possible landing zone for the patient. However, all aero medical units were grounded due to weather. Chief 720 (Peel) was in command.
April 23, 2011 – Medical Assist (W. Second Mt Road)
April 23, 2011 – At 10:25 Stations 1 & 2 were dispatched to 247 West Second Mountain Road, North Manheim Township for a medical assist. Just as personnel became en-route SCCC advised to cancel the call. Chief 720 had command.
April 21, 2011 – AFA Tumbling Run Treatment Plant
April 21, 2011 – At 10:32 the Schuylkill Haven Fire Department was dispatched to 16 Tumbling Run Road (The Schuylkill Haven Water Treatment Plant) for an automatic fire alarm. Just as units began to respond SCCC advised of a false activation and all units were placed available by Chief 722.
April 19, 2011 – Smoke In A Structure (Garfield Ave)
April 19, 2011 – At 16:05Stations 1 & 2 were dispatched to 741 North Garfield Ave for smoke in a structure. Crews arrived on scene and found burnt food on the stove. Fire personnel then used PPV fans to ventilate the structure. All units were cleared by Chief 720 (Peel) after approximately 30 minutes.
April 12, 2011 – Chlorine Alarm (Tumbling Run)
April 12, 2011 – At 06:05 Stations 1 & 2 were dispatched to the Tumbling Run water treatment plant for a chlorine alarm sounding inside a building. Chief 722 (Sattizahn) held all units in Station until arriving on scene determining a false activation.
