June 20, 2011 – At 02:37 Station 2 was requested for manpower to assist Minersville Fire Department at the scene of a 2 alarm structure fire. Engine 732 was requested to respond directly to the scene while Engine 733 was redirected to the Minersville Fire-Rescue station to standby and cover the Minersville borough in the event of any other emergencies. Once onscene crews from station 2 where split, with members assisting on fire attack on the original two fire buildings, and crews advancing handlines into the two exposure buildings to attack the rapidly spreading fire. Crews remained onscene for several hours to assist with overhaul and continue with coverage on the stand-by assignment. Info from Schuylkillhose.com.

Welcome to the Schuylkill Haven Fire Department
Schuylkill Haven is located in the southern tier of Schuylkill County. As a department Schuylkill Haven Fire covers an area of roughly twenty-five square miles and a population of around 6,200 residents. The Schuylkill Haven Fire Department is composed of three companies; Rainbow Hose Station 1, Schuylkill Hose Station 2, Liberty Fire Station 4. SHFD currently has three borough chiefs, each representing their respective companies; Borough Chief-Glenn Sattizahn, First Assistant-Mike Donatti, Second Assistant-Andy Motko. At this time as a department we run 4 Engines, 1 Ladder, 1 Light Rescue, 1 Utility Squad, 1 Tanker, 2 Squads, and 3 Inflatable Water Rescue Boats and 1 Aluminum Flat-bottom boat with side scan sonar.
