July 26, 2011 – At 16:45 the SHFD was dispatched to 401 University Drive, Rest Haven Nursing Home for an automatic fire alarm. Crews arrived on scene and did a search of the interior and found the alarm to be a false activation.
July 23, 2011 – At 16:15 the SHFD was dispatched to 16 Tumbling Run Road (the water treatment plant) for an automatic fire alarm. Units quickly arrived on scene and found a faulty detector located in the garage area. All units were placed available by Chief 720 (Peel).
July 22, 2011 – At 14:47 Station 2 was dispatched for the dive team and boats to respond to Church Road and Route 183 Penn Township for a Water Rescue/Recovery. Crews arrived on scene and placed 2 divers into the water and located the victim by using a jack stay pattern within 20 minutes. Station 4 also responded with Squad 739 on the call to assist Station 2 with manpower. All SHFD units were on scene for approximately 3 hours. Photos over at Schuylkillhose.com.
July 20, 2011 – At 08:45 Stations 1 and 2 were dispatched to 110 Route 61 South (Church by Penn State) to setup a landing zone for incoming Medevac 7. Crews arrived on scene and secured the area for “the bird” to land. Chief 722 (Sattizahn) had command.
July 19, 2011 – At 16:16 The Schuylkill Haven Rapid Intervention Team (R.I.T.) was dispatched to 24 Walnut Street, Strausstown Borough for a structure fire. SCCC advised Chief 722 (Sattizahn) of a working shed fire with extention into a wooded area. The R.I.T. however was cancelled en-route. All units were placed available by SCCC. E-733 and Squad 739 were on the call.
July 19, 2011 – At 05:18 Stations 1 & 2 were dispatched to the area of 625 East Main Street for a vehicle accident with injuries. Crews arrived on scene and found a two vehicle accident rear end collision. At the request of EMS crews removed the passenger door and the roof for patient removal. July 18, 2011 – At 18:25 Stations 2 & 4 were dispatched to the area of 440 Route 61 South (Otto’s Amusements) for a brush fire. Crews arrived on scene and found a small brush/garbage fire. Station 2 used a trash line from E-732 to extinguish the fire. All units were placed available by Chief 722.
July 18, 2011 – At 16:10 Stations 1 & 2 were dispatched to 1614 Route 61 South (Manheim Diner), for a possible vehicle fire. Chief 722 (Sattizahn) arrived on location and found the driver of the vehicle had extinguished the fire. All units responded under caution and were release shortly after arriving on scene.
