September 27, 2011 -19:58 Station 2 was dispatched for Squad 734 and the Dive Team to respond to 1 Orchard Street, Pine Grove Borough for a stand-by in Station as the borough of Pine Grove began to experience flood conditions. At 21:26 Station 2 was also requested for one engine to assist in the borough of Pine Grove. More information coming soon!
September 27, 2011 – MVA w/Injuries (Cressona Mall)
September 27, 2011 – At 18:02 Stations 1 & 2 along with Fire District 41 (Cressona) were dispatched to 1544 Route 61 (Cressona Mall Entrance) for a vehicle accident with injuries. As all units began to respond SCCC advised of a tractor trailer vs. a car at the main entrance to the mall. Crews arrived on scene and found that the occupant of the vehicle escaped without injury. Fire Personnel clean debris from the roadway and assisted with traffic control. All SHFD units were on scene just under 1 hour until being cleared by Chief 735 (Motko).
September 26, 2011 – Possible House Fire (Wilder Street, Cressona)
September 26, 2011 – At 18:49 just as members from the SHFD were about to begin a RIT/Survival Training, Stations 1 & 4 were dispatched along with Fire District 41 (Cressona) to 95 Wilder Street, Cressona Borough for a possible house fire. Chief 41 (Mansell) was the first to arrive on scene and found light smoke coming from a chimney. Fire personnel arrived on scene and checked the chimney for fire and found nothing. It was determined that the oil burner had malfunctioned and all units were placed available by Cressona command.
September 26, 2011 – Possible Apartment Building Fire
September 26, 2011 – at 12:27 the SHFD was dispatched to 200 University Drive, North Manheim Township (PSU Schuylkill) for an apartment building fire. As all units began to respond SCCC advised of a stove on fire with the sprinkler system activated. Chief 722 arrived on scene and found that the sprinkler system and maintenance had knocked down the fire. All units were on scene for approximately 20 mins until being cleared by Chief 722.
September 25, 2011 – MVA w/Injuries (Shell Gas Station)
September 25, 2011 – At 05:39 Stations 1 & 2 were dispatched to the area of the Manheim Diner (Route 61) for a vehicle accident with injuries. Medic 63-01 (Pottsville/Schuylkill Haven Area EMS) was the first to arrive on scene and advised that the accident was located in front of the Shell gas station. Chief 730 arrived on location and found a two vehicle accident, a car vs. an SUV head on with no serious injuries. Chief 730(Reed) held the call to Station 2 and all units remained on scene for approximately 25 minutes until the tow company arrived.
September 24, 2011 – Liberty Fire Co. #4 Takes 1st Place States!
On September 24, 2011 members from Station 4, Leroy Boyer and Aimee Peel ventured to Lake Harmony, PA with Wagon 736 for the 2011 State Firemen’s Convention hosted by Lake Harmony Fire and Albrightsville Fire Companies. Wagon 736 placed 1st for the category of Best Appearing Engine 1985 and older! Congratulations to Wagon 736, Aimee, and Leroy on their State Championship!
The Liberty Fire Co. would also like to congratulate Landingville Fire who placed 3rd with 47-10 in the Tanker category and 2nd in the Attack Category with 47-11.
September 24, 2011 – AFA Blue Mountain Elementary East
September 4, 2011 – At 19:08 Station 4 and Ladder 725 were dispatched along with Fire District 56 to 675 Red Dale Road, East Brunswick Township (The Blue Mountain Elementary East) for an automatic fire alarm. A crew from 56-10 conducted an interior search of the building and the alarm was determined to be a false activation. All Station 4 units and the Ladder were placed clear and available by Chief 56.
September 23, 2011 – Tree Down Adamsdale Road
September 23, 2011 – At 12:55 Stations 2 & 4 were dispatched to the area of the Nutty Pear, Adamsdale Road for a tree down partially blocking the roadway. Crews arrived on scene and found that Penn Dot had already removed the tree. All units were placed clear and available.
September 23, 2011 – Working Structure Fire Auburn Borough
September 23, 2011 – At 01:16 the SHFD Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) and Station 1 for Ladder 725 were dispatched to 202 Market Street, Auburn for a working fire. Fire personnel arrived on scene and staged on side A of the fire building until being requested to assist with fire attack and overhaul. Station 1 positioned Ladder 725 on Side D of the fire building and laddered the exposures. Crews were then split up into teams, an interior team for overhaul, and a roof crew for ventilation. September 22, 2011 – MVA w/Injuries (Main Street)
September 22, 2011 – At 15:29 the SHFD was dispatched to the intersection of Earl Street and Main Street for a vehicle accident with injuries. Crews arrived on scene and found a 3 car accident with 1 injury. Fire personnel assisted EMS with patient care and removal. All units were placed clear and available by Chief 723.
