December 8, 2011 – At 18:48 The SHFD Rapid Intervention Team was dispatched to 38 Water Street, New Philadelphia for a house fire. As all Schuylkill Haven units were responding, fire personnel from New Philadelphia and the surrounding communities searched for the reported house fire and found nothing. All units were then placed available by 54 Command.

Welcome to the Schuylkill Haven Fire Department
Schuylkill Haven is located in the southern tier of Schuylkill County. As a department Schuylkill Haven Fire covers an area of roughly twenty-five square miles and a population of around 6,200 residents. The Schuylkill Haven Fire Department is composed of three companies; Rainbow Hose Station 1, Schuylkill Hose Station 2, Liberty Fire Station 4. SHFD currently has three borough chiefs, each representing their respective companies; Borough Chief-Glenn Sattizahn, First Assistant-Mike Donatti, Second Assistant-Andy Motko. At this time as a department we run 4 Engines, 1 Ladder, 1 Light Rescue, 1 Utility Squad, 1 Tanker, 2 Squads, and 3 Inflatable Water Rescue Boats and 1 Aluminum Flat-bottom boat with side scan sonar.
