April 16, 2012 – At 17:03 the SHFD was dispatched to the area of 201 East Liberty Street for a vehicle accident with unknown injuries. Crews arrived on scene to find a two vehicle rear-end collision with no injuries and fluids down. Fire personnel secured the vehicles and applied absorbent to the fluids. All units were cleared after the tow company arrived. Chief 720 had command.
April 9, 2012 – Move Up Assignment For Station 2
April 9, 2012 – At 12:05 Station 2 was dispatched to the Pine Grove HH&L to be on stand-by as all District 58 units were out on a possible structure fire.
March 29, 2012 – Landing Zone (Island)
March 29, 2012 – At 00:27 Stations 1 & 2 were dispatched to “the Island” to setup a landing zone for incoming Medevac 7. Crews assisted Medic unit 6801 and the Flight Crew with patient packaging and transport to the helicopter. All units were cleared by Chief 720 shortly after take off.
March 28, 2012 – Working Structure Fire (Woodland Drive, North Manheim Twp.)
March 28, 2012 – At 17:08 Stations 1 & 4 were dispatched along with Fire District 41 (Cressona) to 1046 Woodland Drive, North Manheim Twp. for a reported structure fire. Chief 41 (Mansell) arrived on scene to find a small house with heavy fire coming from the roof area and rear of the structure. Chief 41 immediately added SHFD Station 2, Pottsville RIT, and a first alarm tanker task force due to the lack of hydrants. E-737 stretched a 5″ supply line to the tanker dump site, and established a water supply feeding E-41-17. Ladder 725 and crews from Station 2 went to work on the roof and attic, cutting two vent holes for ventilation. All SHFD crews assisted with fire suppression, ventilation and overhauling operations. T-738 dumped three loads of water during the tanker shuttling. Units from the SHFD remained on scene for approximately 3 hours. Chief 41 (Mansell) had command. Photos via Coal Region Fire.
March 26, 2012 – Landing Zone (SHHS Parking Lot)
March 26, 2012 – At 18:25 the Stations 2 & 4 were dispatched to 625 East Main Street, the Schuylkill Haven Area High School to setup a landing zone for incoming Medevac 7. Fire personnel established a secure area for the “bird” to land and assisted EMS and the Flight Crew with patient transport. All units cleared the scene shortly after take-off. Chief 720 (Sattizahn) had command.
March 24, 2012 – AFA CJ Tires (North Manheim Twp)
March 24, 2012 -At 15:47 Station 4 was dispatched along with Fire Districts 56 (Orwigsburg) and 47 (Landingville) to 608 Route 61 South, North Manheim Twp, CJ Tires for an automatic fire alarm. 47-02 arrived on scene and confirmed a false activation canceling all units.
March 23, 2012 – Possible Vehicle Fire (Centre Avenue)
March 23, 2012 – At 18:18 Stations 1 & 2 were dispatched to the area of Center Avenue and Dock Streets for a vehicle fire. Crews arrived on scene and found a vehicle with a brake issue that caused a smoke condition. Chief 723 (Motko) was in command and released all units.
March 22, 2012 – AFA Old Cressona Knit Building
March 22, 2012 – At 18:29 Station 1 was dispatched for Ladder 725 for an automatic fire alarm at 87 Schuylkill Street, Cressona. All units were canceled en-route due to a false activation.
March 22, 2012 – MVA w/Fluids Down (Bill’s Produce)
March 22, 2012 – at 09:20 Stations 2 & 4 were dispatched to the area of 2012 Long Run Road (area of Bill’s Produce) for a vehicle accident with no injuries but fluids down. Crews arrived on scene and found a single car had clipped a utility pole with a small amount of fluids on the roadway. Fire personnel applied floor absorbent to the area around the vehicle and remained on scene until the tow company arrived. Time out was just under 20 minutes.
